Snapchat adds new relief equipment of Bitmoji avatars to expand its user representation role. Now, users can add hearing aids with different colors and choose to have one ear or both. Snapchat also added a selection of the most popular Bitmoji stickers including an avatar with a cane. Users now can also select wheelchairs in their Bitmoji avatars.
Last year, the company released stickers depicting a wheelchair after listening to user comments. Snap said the stickers have been shared more than 30 million times and have received more feedback from people who wanted to see more parts of Snapchat.
“Bitmoji’s goal is to be the world’s avatar, which also means we want to make sure all of our communities are visible on our products,” the company said in a statement. blog post. “This is central to the work we do when designing new products and features, and we prioritize Diversity, Equality, Integration, Ownership, and Accessibility Principles to improve the experience of all Snapchatters on our site.”
Snap says users must update to the latest version of the app to get new device assistance options.
The launch came shortly after Snapchat announced it was introducing a new one ASL Alphabet mirror to encourage users to start learning American Sign Language. The new AR lens will teach users to type their name and repeat the ASL alphabet. The screen also includes games that users can play to test their ASL knowledge.
