As part of its ongoing investment in expanding its mobile gaming business, Netflix today announced it will, for the first time, launch a mobile game along with the same TV series. The play and performance will be based on celebrities Kittens exploding card game. The mobile game will officially launch in May for Netflix members, along with two new player cards. The TV series, produced by Greg Daniels and Mike Judge, will air in 2023.
While Netflix today offers multiplayer games for “Strange Things” for members linked to its original series, it proves that these games are organized. a TV series – it was not an adapted game galay TV series, as Kittens will explode. The service also launched an interactive show called “Trivia Quest” (which is very much like a broadcast game for TV viewers), but Netflix did not publish the Trivia Crack mobile game on which the show is based – that is still published by Etermax.
Netflix has the Kittens Explosion – The game will keep the original game of the original card game, where players draw cards with the aim of avoiding the Kitten Explosion. Single-player and multiplayer modes will be available. The mobile version also adds two new, unique cards: One called Radar, which shows players the Kitten Explosion space closest to the top of the card deck; and Flip Flop, which replaces the deck of cards. Future cards and game mechanics to be added to the game will be the subject of a series, Netflix notes.
This is a game that is completely different from the original Kitten mobile game, the company tells TechCrunch. The current game will be for sale, but will not share any upgrades, expansion packs or Netflix-type storage.
Like all Netflix mobile games, the Kitten Exploding game will be a free Netflix membership, will be free of ads and will not add any purchases within the app.
Once launched, Netflix was interested in testing the market to see if it was possible to promote a new TV series with mobile gaming, and whether the TV series could bring new players to the game.
Mike Moon, head of Netflix’s Animation Adult, said in a statement: “The development of the game and the action series is breaking new ground in Netflix.” “And we could not think of a better game to build around the world than Exploding Kittens, one of the most creative, iconic and original games of this century,” he added. “Netflix is the best place to explore this growing business, and we are very lucky to be working with this amazing team,” Moon said.
The series will star the voices of Tom Ellis (“Rush,” “Lucifer”), Abraham Lim (“Clickbait,” “The Boys”), Lucy Liu (“Shazam,” “Elementary”), Ally Maki (“Wrecked,” “” Toy Story 4 “), Mark Proksch (” What We Do in the Shadow, “” Saul’s Better Call “) and Sasheer Zamata (” woke, “” Home Economy “). The story will involve God and the devil being sent to the land of the dead cats at home.
Showrunners Shane Kosakowski and Matthew Inman will lead the series, produced by Mike Judge, Greg Daniels and Dustin Davis of Bandera Entertainment; Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping of the Chernin Entertainment Group; and the creators of the Kittens franchise, Elan Lee and The Oatmeal’s Inman.
“Our goal is to provide our members with the best entertainment they can enjoy in any way they can – whether it’s a game or an active series,” said Leanne Loombe, head of Outdoor Sports, Netflix. “As we expand our mobile gaming booklet, we look forward to working with the digital team Explosion Kittens to bring this exciting game to teams of all ages, including a number of exciting and unique updates for our members.”
Kittens Explosion will be the third card game Netflix offers members, along with Card Blast and Arcanium: Rise of Akhan. The game is produced by Wolf Dire, which has worked on a number of other games linked to entertainment houses, including digital adaptations involving Pokémon, “Game of Thrones” and others. However, Netflix was brought into contact with Dire Wolf through the Kittens Explosion team.
