A completely new thermal design called GameCool 5 also features Asus ROG Phone 5. When it comes to hardware, the Asus ROG Phone 5 is nothing short of a beast. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 sits at the core of the Asus ROG Phone 5, a processor that can also be found in the OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9 and even the Vivo X60 Pro+. In addition, our review model has 12GB of LPDDR5 memory and 256GB of ultra-fast UFS3.1 storage. Interestingly, none of these components are exclusive to the ROG Phone 5, which is disappointing because prior ROG phones had at least one unique component that no one else has. This results in synthetic benchmark and real-world game performance statistics that are comparable to those of other smartphones with similar technology.

While the hardware on the ROG Phone 5 isn’t very impressive, the software that allows you to adjust performance metrics has been given special attention by ROG developers. The Armory Crate programme, which holds many profiles, is where it all begins. The most common profile is X-Mode, which is followed by Dynamic, Ultra Durable, and Advanced. The advanced profile lets you fine-tune the CPU-GPU and thermal restrictions, allowing you to get the most out of this phone. If you utilise X-Mode or the Advanced profile with everything turned up to 100, keep that in mind. The AeroActive Cooler’s fan speed may be controlled from the Armory Crate.
